How to Blog: 10 Guidelines to Follow if You Want to Be Successful

There is more to blogging than just writing some words on a page once in awhile. There is a specific procedure to blogging that will make you successful. If success means making money, then you should follow these steps:

1. Keep your blog posts from 200 words to 300 words in length.

2. Use numbers instead of letters; for example, write 200 instead of two hundred.

3. Write blogs every day, or every other day, but post on a regular basis.

4. Write in bullet-form, instead of in paragraphs.

5. Choose titles for your blog that users are searching for, but are having a hard time finding. You want the number of user searches to be as high as possible while having the number of competing web pages to be as low as possible.

6. Blog for months or years, using the above guidlines, and you will make good money.

7. Post your blogs on sites such as ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com and articlesbase.com.

8. Submit your blogs to social networking sites such as Facebook, Myspace, etc.

9. Submit your blogs to social bookmarking sites such as digg.com, reddit.com, etc.

10. Write about things you're interested in. Otherwise, you'll become bored and probably will give up after only a few days.

Where Everything is Free: Downtown, Los Angeles, CA.

There is a place where you can get everything you need to succeed. And it costs no money. Come to LA and here’s what you’ll get:

Free housing: For 90 days, first in dorm room, then when you get a job or are going to school, you can get your own room.

-Free hotel voucher: 16 nights free in own room.

-Free year-long “program” which I actually wouldn’t call “free,” because you have to attend classes and get a job and save money.

Free money: $221 per month for 9 months per year.

Free food money: $176 per month which can be used at every major grocery store, many convenience stores, many Subway restaurants, and some other restaurants, including McDonald’s.

Free clothing. Free soap, shampoo, razors, etc.

Free doctor: Including, but not limited to: blood test, ultrasound, electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, psychiatrist

Free dentist: You have to play a lottery each morning at 7. Or you can make an appointment at this other place 6 or 7 months in advance.

Free food: Hippy Kitchen, Midnight Mission, Union Mission. Various groups giving out food out of their trucks and vans on the street.

Free library: 2 hours of computer access per day, 5 days per week (if you have a laptop, you can access the wifi anywhere in the building during all hours the library is open). You can have 30 books checked out. Look up and place holds on the books you want, then they will ship them to the branch library of your choosing. I just checked out 10 books today on how to make money on the internet.

Hollywood is 7 miles away. The beach is 17 miles away. USC is 3 or 4 miles away. The sky is blue. It has rained twice in four months.

If you want to know more, such as exactly how to obtain these resources, I will update this post soon with the exact addresses and times, etc.

Note: There are so many other resources around downtown LA that I have not mentioned. Some of which I am not aware. Of the ones I am aware, I did not mention because although they cost no money, are not free in my opinion due to the non-monetary costs of obtaining them, that is, what you have to go through to obtain them is not worth it.

Know Your Horse

Habits are like horses stubbornly traveling down trails. When you think about what you want, your “horse” is going to resist; your body is going to respond negatively in the form of negative emotions such as anxiety, fear, guilt, shame, doubt, or worry. But the “secret” is that, if you remain relaxed and patient, and think about what you want as though you already have it, as though you are already experiencing it, and continue to tell yourself that this is where you’re going, that this is the person you are, that this is what you have, that this is who you’ve always been and always will be--then the “horse” will change its course—you will notice that the actions you are taking are now in agreement with what you consciously want. You’ll be doing the things you know you should do. You won’t procrastinate anymore. It’ll become easier and easier as time goes on. You’ll love yourself. You’ll be one of those people who say, “I wouldn’t have it any other way.” At first, you are going to imagine yourself as the person you want to be, or you are going to temporarily act as the person you want to be, and it may feel very awkward. You may think to yourself, “This isn’t me,” or “I could never do that,” or “This is ridiculous,” or “I feel like an idiot.” But just be patient. Breathe. Soon you will be comfortable thinking how you ideally want to think, speaking how you want to speak, walking the way you want to walk, earning the amount of money you want to earn, doing the things you need to do in order to produce the results you want.

The Subconscious and Neuroplasticity

Why do people smoke cigarettes even though there are pictures on each pack, of diseased lungs (in some countries)…or a person with a hole in her neck (Remember that TV commercial)?...not to mention how disgusting cigarette smoke smells. In other words, why do smart people do stupid things? Well, their behavior doesn’t have much to do with how smart they are…how smart they are is calculated by measuring the power of their conscious mind. The power of the conscious mind is insignificant compared to the subconscious. It doesn’t matter if you’re the smartest person in the world, unless you use your smarts to steer your subconscious in the direction you consciously want to go. If you’ve ever ridden a horse, then this might make sense to you…especially a horse that is used to being ridden along a well-beaten trail. The horse will automatically follow the trail, unless you yank the reins in the direction you want to go. And you’ll have to yank the reins many times; the horse will, at first, continue along the trail despite your efforts to change its course. It’s not going to be easy to forge a new trail; to teach this “old dog” new tricks. And this is how your brain is set up. Your brain cells are like trails. You can create new paths and trails of brain connections if you want to. It’s simple, but not easy. It takes time and repetition and strengthening of these neural networks. They say it takes 30 days to make a behavior a habit. But some say it may take 90 days. Whatever the actual number, my point is that you must be patient and persistent and not give up too easily. You must give it time. When changing your habits, you may feel worse before you feel better. Hang in there; your body is changing and adapting; it's like when you lift weights and you are sore for the next few days. Feel confident and at ease and assured that you, soon, will adapt to, and feel comfortable with, being the person you want to be.

The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

The subconscious mind does not know the difference between what is imagined and what is actually experienced. If you continue to imagine this grand vision, your subconscious mind will begin to accept it as reality. The subconscious mind can only accept information; it cannot reject. The subconscious mind is like a computer that you can program to do whatever you want it to do. It may seem hard to do at first, to program a computer, but you can learn computer programming; it just takes time and patience. It may take weeks or months to learn a programming language. And it may take weeks or months to reprogram your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind can process 2 million times more information than the conscious mind, and is responsible for 90%+ of our decisionmaking. Our subconscious mind always wins in the long run. People go to the gym on January 1st, but then stop going after a few weeks. They intended to start an exercise program and follow it indefinitely. But what they were using was the conscious mind; not the subconscious. The conscious mind is incredibly weak compared with the subconscious. The subconscious always overrides the conscious. For example, why does Pepsi always win over Coke in taste tests, but people, when surveyed which brand they like better, more often say they like Coke better than Pepsi? You tell me.

Relax and visualize...

If you relax and visualize what you want, and then be patient and continue to relax and give yourself time to research how to get what you want—without concluding it’s not worth the effort, or it’s not possible based on your present level of education or intelligence—then you will get what you want, in time. Your goal is like a plant that you are starting from seed…you need to give the seed time to germinate. Some seeds take weeks to germintate…and some plants that bear fruit may not bear fruit until the second year. So trust that there is a formula for achieving what you want, and that you may not presently have that formula. Trust that there is an easier way to produce the results you want. Trust that you may, instead of working harder, need to work smarter and simply be patient and wait for your “seed” to germinate your “plant” to grow. What’s more important though, is that you actually think about what you want, because that’s the first step. Think about what you want. Do not think about how. Think about what you want, then think about why. Then develop it into an elaborate vision…a dream. Make it feel real in your mind.

Achieving Goals

There is a cause to every effect. Once you know what effect you want to produce, figure out what cause or causes produce that effect. In other words, there is a formula or formulas that can be used to get you what you want. First think about what you want, then study what actions you need to take in order for you to manifest what you want. You have to make sure you think about what you want first; if you think about how to achieve what you want before you think about what you want, then you’ll give up, because you will not have a solid vision with which to guide your thinking. Arnold Schwarzenegger said, “What you do is create a vision of who you want to be, and then live into that picture, as if it were already true.” You need a target to aim for. Your vision, or dream, or desired outcome—is your target. Keep that target in your mind at all times, and you will hit it. But most people don’t spend enough time determining what target they want to hit. They don’t have a target, really. Or they think the target they want to hit is too difficult to hit. They give up too easily.

How to be happy

What are your true desires? Ask yourself what makes you happy. Not what others say is good for you. I want you to think about what you want. What excites you... Try to not rationalize if your feelings are good or bad. Just feel the feelings. Go with your gut instinct. You'll find your passion doing this. ...You know, I used to overthink things. I used to have a feeling, a desire for something, but then rationalized that feeling as bad, and then I didn't pursue that desire, which then made me depressed. Do things that make you feel good, then you'll feel good! How would it feel to feel awesome all the time? You know...there's a way to feel awesome all the time. There is a formula for happiness. There are certain behaviors that will cause you to feel happiest. And when you reprogram your subconscious mind, you'll enable yourself to do those behaviors that you presently know you should do in order to be happy, but right now you don't do them because you don't feel like doing them. Reprogramming your brain will enable you to feel like doing what you know you should do. I am reprogramming my brain...I'm on day 17 of 90. It's changing me. I'm moving to LA tomorrow, pursuing my dreams. So are you going to start "innercising"? I think everyone should innercise every day. It's recommended that we exercise for an hour a day, but there is no recommendation for innercise. When you start to innercise, your life will change. Try it.

Seek and attract mentors

Move toward people who support you. We thrive when we are with people who are like us. Who like us. Who are similar to us...who have similar goals and dreams...If you are around people right now who do not share the goals you have...get away from them. I know it's hard. You may think it's impossible. You may think it's too hard. You may think you are stuck. You may feel controlled. These people you are presently around really want you to stay, because they don't have the confidence in themselves to be okay with you leaving, and be happy that you are on your way to a better life; they are afraid of change. They are just used to the same reality. They don't know what they want--they are reactive. They are not proactive like you are. You may feel very anxious about leaving. You may even rationalize that moving away is not the right think to do, based on how you feel. You may feel scared. You have to do it though. Get away from them, because they won't change if you try to educate them on how to be better people. If you are hopeless about leaving, I've got a solution for you. It's called reprogramming your subconscious mind. Brain re-training. When you do, it will make the difference. It will enable you to do what it takes to get out of your present situation. It will tip the scales. It will make you just confident enough that you will take the action that you know consciously you should take. They will complain, they will try to convince you to stay, they will come up with reasons that you won't make it on your own, that there's no hope for you. Use all the power that's within you to focus on what you want. Focus on yourself and what truly makes you happy. You must do what's right for you. Don't think about other people. They are most likely not thinking about what they want. They are stuck in mediocrity. Move away from these people...and find new people who you want to be like. Seek the best people you can. Have standards that the people who you associate with must meet. Don't settle for anything less. You won't want to anyway, because you know what happens when you do. Assume that getting what you want is possible. Focus on what you want, and maintain those images in your mind. Make a movie out of them. Add in sounds and smells...include all the five senses...experience how it feels to be playing the lead role in that movie. You're the star of the show. Everyone is applauding.

Think Big.

I want to tell you right now, that you have unlimited potential. Did you know, that no one knows how much money you can earn? How creative you can become? No one knows what you're capable of. Think about what these people did...Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves. The United States government put a man on the moon. Thomas Edison took 10,000 tries until he figured out how to make the incandescent lightbulb work. Booker T. Washington traveled 500 miles to "the promised land," (college) and he didn't know where the college was, and he had to beg for rides and food and sleep outside and underneath a sidewalk for several days in cold weather. No one ran the mile in under four minutes until Roger Bannister did it. Then thousands did it after him, because they knew it was possible. You've got to start thinking big...thinking about things that are outside the box. I want you to think about a goal that you want to achieve, that if you achieved it, it would blow your mind. Tell me what you want to achieve. Try to think about what you want...not what you know you can do, or you think you can do. I want you to tell me what you truly want.

What you think about, you bring about.

Think about this for a moment...what would your life be like, if you always thought about what you wanted? Start to monitor your thinking. Take note of what thoughts you think about. Notice that a lot of your thoughts are about things that are totally not what you want, such as what other people are thinking. You're thinking, "What would he think, what would she think?" You're thinking about all the negative consequences to your future actions. Thinking negatively is good sometimes. Focus on what you want. The brain becomes addicted to certain ways of behavior. You want to start making habits of doing things that help you get happier. A habit is behavior pattern. It's a set of behavior that you do almost without thinking. Do you remember when you started to drive? It was probably nerve-wracking. You had to think about how to turn the wheel and how to brake before the turn, and accelerate out of the turn. But now driving is a habit. It's a habit that produces the results you want; it gets you where you want to go. Now, what if you made new habits that brought you better results. For example, making money. What is the difference between rich people and poor people? It's habits. They don't think about getting rich. They just do it, without thinking. It's who they are.

I want to ask you a question...

What did you think about today? What did you think about? There are thousands of thoughts that go through our minds on a daily basis, and I'm wondering...I'm willing to bet that 95% of your thoughts were not about what you wanted...whatever they were, they weren't getting you what you wanted. They were about that person who made to feel bad, or that present frustration you have. Or just about your present circumstances, and how you are unsatisfied with them. You know, successful people think about what they want, and how to get it. What they want, and how to get it, most of the time. You want to get in the habit of thinking about what you want. But right now, you are not really capable of thinking about what you want. Let me explain. When I talk about what you want, I'm talking about what you want. What you want ideally. I'm not talking about what you know you can get, or what you think you can get. I'm talking about what you want. And you think about what you want, but then your subconscious prevents you from thinking about it further...unless you can develop the will, which is one of the six mental faculties, by the way, to hold that image on the screen of your mind. When you do, you will impress it upon the subconscious, and then your subconscious will start to accept it. The subconscious doesn't know the difference between reality and fantasy. So, with this knowledge, you can now think big...dream big. Once you start to think about what you want, and build that fantasy in your mind, your subconscious will start to believe you already have it...you already are that person...you deserve what you are fantasizing about. You will feel so comfortable doing the actions that right now you know you should do in order to achieve what you want. You will attract what you want soooo much more easily. I'm Dan Cilley, and if you like this video, subscribe to this channel, and go to my website, at dancilley.com, because I'm going to be coming out with a free ebook that will teach you everything you need to know about the subconscious mind, and how to use its immense power to get everything you want.

What it's like...

Do you know what it's like to be motivated? To be passionate? To be so excited to do something, that you will do it an sacrifice anything? Well, I've got an example, let me explain. Napoleon Hill, in his book, "Think and Grow Rich," explained it very well...he said, "What a different story people would have to tell, if they would only adopt a definite purpose, and stand by that purpose, until it had time to become an all-consuming obsession." Now here's a book you should read...Booker T. Washington, "Up From Slavery." Booker T. Washington had a belief, that education would make him free. So he left the plantation and traveled by foot, and by begging for rides, and slept outside at night, underneath sidewalks, etc...he was on fire for this. It was his dream, his purpose. It was inevitable that he would succeed, because he was so obsessed. He got a job as a janitor at the college, when he finally was admitted, and he said, "If someone sees this floor, they're gonna know that Booker T. Washington washed this floor." Now, what was it about Mr. Washington? He was programmed subconsciously. The phrase "all-consuming" means that--he was so involved with this dream, it consumed all his time. It was all he thought about. It took time for him to visualize this dream...until it had time to become all-consuming. When you program your subconscious, you will develop stronger and stronger, and more vivid visualizations. Your whole body will believe you are actually there already...you will feel compelled to do the things that you previously resisted doing, because you will feel like the person in the dream is the person you are right now.

Paradigms

Have you ever wondered how rich people are rich? How olympians become olympians? How presidents become presidents...we'll, I have the answer. It's paradigms. A paradigm is a multitude of habits. A habit is a pattern of behavior that is executed almost without conscious thought involved. Successful people have paradigms that cause them to succeed. They aren't using sheer willpower. Their motivation comes from their subconscious mind. If you aren't rich or famous right now then I want to tell you that you're very lucky to be watching this video. Because did you know...you can change your paradigms. You can change the habits that are causing your results. And you want to have paradigms that cause the results you want. All you have to do, is ask yourself, "Am I getting the results I want?" If the answer is "no," then I am advising you to study how to change your paradigms. Because when you have the paradigms you want, you'll manifest what you want in your life without much conscious effort. You'll feel comfortable. It won't feel like a struggle. It will be easier than you think. Leave your questions or comments below. And if you want to really change your life, if you are willing to do whatever it takes, then go to my website at dancilley.com.

"Automate" happiness

Believe that there is a way to change how you habitually react to the outside world. For example, some people, when criticized by others, will feel sad and depressed and guilty; but others will respond with anger and denial; and others, laughter, and will make fun of the situation. You want to be able to love yourself unconditionally, and have others' criticisms "bounce off" you. You will be able to be happy, regardless of being accepted or rejected; your happiness won't depend on others' approval of you. You will simply be you, and that's it. You won't feel bad if others reject you, because you will know who you are, and know what you want, and feel secure, no matter what.

Develop habits that cause happiness...find out what causes happiness, and repeat those behaviors; and stop doing what causes pain and unhappiness. You will find that you are happy, and may not immediately be able to explain what it is you're doing that is causing you to be happy after awhile, because you will have automated the behaviors that are causing you to be happy. And when you automate a behavior, that means you are doing it without thinking about it; the process of doing it is subconscious. You may find out that you are doing things without even thinking, that once used to be very difficult and may have caused you much frustration. For example, driving a car. When you first started driving, if the car had a manual transmission, you probably stalled the engine many times. But now you don't even think about how firmly you press the gas, brake, and clutch pedals. And this is what I'm saying you need to do in other areas of your life. Have you ever thought about "automating" the way you make money? How about your health?

Develop habits that lead to success

What you need to do is develop new habits. "Automate" your behavior so that you move in the direction of happiness and success, without consciously thinking about it. Like walking, running, writing, reading, riding a bike, driving...when we do these things, we don't think about how we do them; we do them and our conscious mind thinks about other things. Our subconscious mind controls how firmly we press the gas pedal, how much force we apply with our hands to the steering wheel, how we turn our head to the left and right to look for traffic, etc. Making money should be the same...there should be a way to automate the behaviors that one does that lead to the accumulation of money. Same thing with maintaining optimal health, finding your ideal relationship, and accomplishing pretty much any goal.

EFT

I've been watching videos about EFT (emotional freedom technique). This technique is supposed to remove negative emotions that we are holding on to, which, once removed, the person will be happy and able to focus on his or her goals and take action toward their achievement with full speed. It "reprograms" the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is like a tape player. And it is a million times more powerful than the conscious mind, and it controls 95 to 99 percent of our actions. The "tape" runs, and influences our behavior. For example, you may think you want to get good grades in school, and think that you're a straight-A student, but if your subconscious is programmed for you to be a C student, then you will sabotage your efforts and slack off and procrastinate and get C's, even though you are telling yourself you are going to get straight A's this semester. There is a way to reprogram the subconscious so that it makes the person get straight A's. And I'm learning how to do that. You're supposed to be able to hypnotize yourself into a "theta" state of consciousness. From when we are born, until we are about six years old, we are in the theta state of consciousness. We are "downloading" programs into our subconscious mind. We adopt other people's habits, expressions, etc. We learn very rapidly, and our reality is mixed with fantasy. But when we get older, we use more of our conscious mind. We stay pretty much the same from age six onward, unless we figure out how to reprogram our subconscious.

What you focus on, you attract

"What you focus on, you attract; you literally magnetize yourself to it." -Bob Proctor

What you think about, you bring about. Keep your mind focused on what you want. It sounds simple and obvious, but it is actually really difficult to do. Monitor your thoughts for ten minutes, and start to study what you are actually thinking about. I bet 90% of your thoughts will be negative; you'll think about why you can't do something, why he or she won't let you do something, why you shouldn't do something, why it wouldn't be practical to do something, etc. What you need to do is start thinking outside the box. You need to train you mind to think differently. You want thoughts to arise that are favorable to you, and that move you toward the accomplishment of your goals, rather than stop you. You want 100% of your thoughts to be in accord with your beliefs and ideals. When that is the case, "the entire universe will come to your aid," meaning, you will manifest what you want as fast as possible. Yourself won't stop you anymore. And yourself was the only thing that was stopping you before, because you can't control other people. You can influence the way they react toward you, but that is by changing yourself. You can only control yourself, and when you change your behavior to what is pleasant to others, they will respond favorably to you, and get you what you want.

What this blog is about

This blog is about The Secret, the Law of Attraction, etc. What you think about, you bring about. What you focus on, you attract. Focus on what you want, and that's what you'll get. If you continually think about what you want, you'll form habitual ways of thinking that get you what you want without you having to think about it. Your life results are an expression of how you have been thinking. Start to think in ways that get you what you want. Stop listening to what other people want for you. They want something totally different than you. What's right for them probably isn't right for you. Start paying attention to the radio and TV and movies and notice how the information does not serve you. When you decide what you want, and focus on it, your subconscious will search for it. You will move toward it. Think of what you want, and hold that fantasy in your mind.
